Self-destruction.....

A man-made sun rose over Bikini Atoll on March 1, 1954. Seen here from 50 miles away, the 15-megaton hydrogen blast called Bravo ranks as the largest U.S. test, a thousand times greater than the atom bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.
Do we human really need it?? Preparing for the terminator? aliens? Weapon is type of equipment to self-protect?? Or self-destruct?...Human keep on creating things that will someday lead us to a dead-ends.....

My outstanding assignment and Project

This is my third year in Computer Science(Software Engineering). I don't have any outstanding assignment and project to be shared with, but looking forward to my final year project. I'm hoping to learn more from developing my final year project with the title "web based computer assembling system".

UMS under ATTACK!!....

Recently the issue related to h1n1 virus become something quite serious since its infecting some students in UMS. Many of my fellow coursemates also quite worried about the infection of the virus. But from latest news from news paper, or other media, it tells that H1N1 virus won't be a major crisis if we plan ahead, because prevention will work much better than cure.
If individuals take the necessary precautions. This means ensuring everyone in the family, or close to you, especially children, know the symptoms of the flu, and follow rules of good hygiene such as washing hands frequently, when coughing or sneezing, cough or sneeze to tissue, keep at home when feeling sick cause you are weak at the time.
If just everyone being more alert, and follow these simple rules, im sure H1N1 won't be a major crisis to UMS students.

Facebook in challenge to Google

Facebook in challenge to Google

Facebook has turned up the heat on Google by purchasing content-sharing service FriendFeed, say industry watchers.
Many expected Google or even Twitter to buy the company, which has been praised for its "real-time" search engine.
This type of search is valuable because it lets you know what is happening right now on any given subject.
"Google look out, Facebook knows the real money is in real-time search," said respected blogger Robert Scoble.
"Google is the king of regular search. FriendFeed is the king of real-time search. This makes the coming battle over this issue much more interesting," Mr Scoble told the BBC.
Back in May, Google founder Larry Page admitted that the search giant had fallen behind other services like that of Twitter.
"People really want to do stuff real time and I think they (Twitter) have done a great job.
"We've done a relatively poor job of doing things that work on a per second basis," Mr Page said at the time.

Saved By a Tomato??

Saved By A Tomato

An unemployed man is desperate to support his family. His wife watches TV all day and his three teenage kids have dropped out of high school to hang around with the local toughs. He applies for a janitor's job at a large firm and easily passes an aptitude test.

The human resources manager tells him, "You will be hired at minimum wage of $5.15 an hour. Let me have your e-mail address so that we can get you in the loop. Our system will automatically e-mail you all the forms and advise you when to start and where to report on your first day."

Taken back, the man protests that he is poor and has neither a computer nor an e-mail address. To this the manager replies, "You must understand that to a company like ours that means that you virtually do not exist. Without an e-mail address you can hardly expect to be employed by a high-tech firm. Good day."

Stunned, the man leaves. Not knowing where to turn and having $10 in his wallet, he walks past a farmers' market and sees a stand selling 25lb crates of beautiful red tomatoes. He buys a crate, carries it to a busy corner and displays the tomatoes.

In less than 2 hours he sells all the tomatoes and makes 100% profit. Repeating the process several times more that day, he ends up with almost $100 and arrives home that night with several bags of groceries for his family.

During the night he decides to repeat the tomato business the next day. By the end of the week he is getting up early every day and working into the night. He multiplies his profits quickly. Early in the second week he acquires a cart to transport several boxes of tomatoes at a time, but before a month is up he sells the cart to buy a broken-down pickup truck.

At the end of a year he owns three old trucks. His two sons have left their neighborhood gangs to help him with the tomato business, his wife is buying the tomatoes, and his daughter is taking night courses at the community college so she can keep books for him.

By the end of the second year he has a dozen very nice used trucks and employs fifteen previously unemployed people, all selling tomatoes. He continues to work hard.

Time passes and at the end of the fifth year he owns a fleet of nice trucks and a warehouse which his wife supervises, plus two tomato farms that the boys manage. The tomato company's payroll has put hundreds of homeless and jobless people to work. His daughter reports that the business grossed a million dollars.

Planning for the future, he decides to buy some life insurance. Consulting with an insurance adviser, he picks an insurance plan to fit his new circumstances. Then the adviser asks him for his e-mail address in order to send the final documents electronically.

When the man replies that he doesn't have time to mess with a computer and has no e-mail address, the insurance man is stunned, What, you don't have e-mail? No computer? No Internet? Just think where you would be today if you'd had all of that five years ago!"

"Ha!" snorts the man. "If I'd had e-mail five years ago I would be sweeping floors at Microsoft and making $5.15 an hour."

The Disadvantages of Owning A Computer

1: Kitty-cat now has several new cords to play with.
2: Each new piece of hardware or software somehow interferes with EVERY other currently setup hardware or software - forcing you to spend days on that "will take 1/2 hour to install" upgrade.
3: This fabulous new program that you just bought takes up 20Meg of hard-drive space. The product is always packaged on 360K floppy disks, uncompressed - all 60 of them!!
4: Disk #59 of the above -always- has a problem and aborts the entire installation process....
5: You learn how unreliable the electric company really is just before you save your 15-page document.
6: You've found you have purchased something that takes more of your money than the grocery bills....
7: ....this is offset by the fact you spend all of your time in the "computer room" now - so you never eat anymore anyway.
8: The most exercise you get anymore is flipping through the new computer catalog or for a visit the local software outlets.
9: The electric company starts sending you 'awards' for making the "top 10 fastest moving meter needles" list....
10: ...the phone company does also soon after you buy a modem.
11: A month after buying that new "state of the art" system, you see an advertisement for one that costs less and does more!
12: That "state of the art" system can't balance your checking account to agree with the bank's statement.
13: You begin to wonder why you didn't just buy a Nintendo like all of the other people in the neighborhood....
14: All that happens when you drop-kick the computer across the room in disgust is you hurt your foot. You wind up in the hospital where you don't have access to the system and for about three hours (only) you are happy about it....
15: The people at work avoid you and you hear rumors about, "that person who 'points and clicks the mouse'".
16: The few people at work who -don't- avoid you, consider you to be a "computer genius" and want you to advise them how to solve all of their computers problems and/or go to their house and do it for FREE.
17: You realize that all of the computer programmers have rigged the games which you've bought to always let the COMPUTER win.
18: Your spouse, kids, pets, etc. -ALWAYS- know right where to find you if they need you.....
19: ...so you end up buying a Nintendo anyway, to give THEM something to do so they will leave you alone!
20: Before long, you find your spouse, kids, pets, etc. have now abandoned the Nintendo and have taken over the computer. You no longer get to be in the "computer room", but have decided it's not so bad playing Nintendo! The only bad part is when the spouse, kids, pets, etc. get tired of the computer (in about a week), you'll lose the use of the Nintendo and have to go back to using the computer!

My spiritual life

God is there....even we're in bad situation...

Daniel 1:3-8

3 Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, . . . 4 youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans. . . . 6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego. 8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food.

When things are going smoothly in your life, you might not find it hard to believe that God is good. But if life takes a bad turn and something devastating happens, you might ask, "How could a good God allow this?" If you know that kind of pain, then you can empathize with Daniel.

Across the pages of the Scriptural account of Daniel's life - from teenager to old man - you can write, "Sovereignty at work." God was directing Daniel's life, whether Daniel saw it at the time or not.

Do you know Daniel's story? One bright day in Jerusalem when Daniel was just a teenager, he was captured as a POW and was ripped away from everything warm and familiar. Daniel's enemies were working a cruel strategy. They singled out the best young people-the all-American teenagers voted "MVP" and "Most Likely to Succeed" and brought them to their capital city near modern-day Kuwait. Their plan was to brainwash these kids with their culture and make them leaders. Daniel was given a foreign name, Belteshazzar. He was forced to learn a new language and was given a new diet.

Had Daniel decided what God was like by looking at his circumstances, he would have become a disillusioned, confused, angry, young man. Kidnapped from his homeland, forced into slavery, most likely castrated to become a eunuch in the palace, Daniel's eyes were still on God. Don't gloss over these facts like they're from some made-for-TV movie - this story is true in every detail. Imagine the suffering connected with his circumstances, yet Daniel went through the fire . . . successfully. This certainly gives us hope that we can make it through our firestorm, too.

No doubt a situation comes to mind right now from either your past or the present. You may wonder how a God of love could have allowed some painful, wrong injustice. Yet I would bet on the fact that you've not come full circle yet. There will be a day when you will look back and see how God's sovereign hand was at work. Truth is, He is in the center of the situation that troubles your heart right now. He's right in the middle of it.

Just because you can't see Him doesn't mean He isn't there. Look for Him. Trust Him. He is at work.

-James MacDonald-

Lord, I know You are at work in my life and circumstances . . . even when I don't see Your hand. I know You are working all things together for good. Help me fix my heart on You no matter how long I must wait to see a bigger picture. I believe You will bring all things around for Your glory.

• Do I tend to look to God or to my circumstances? Have I ever questioned His goodness or His sovereignty.
• Do I know someone who has gone through significant trials, yet their eyes are completely fixed on Christ? Describe their joy.
• Are there hints in my life that point to "God at work . . . even when I don't see it"?

Title : Web-based Computer Assembling System

This web based system is actually a agent based system. The main functions of this system is to help people in assembling a new set of personal PC.
I get my idea from visiting some web sites such as http://www.dell.com/, http://www.lowyat.net/,and so on.
This system provide a solution for those who wanted to build their own personal PC while they don't have the knowledge in doing so. This system can help them to solve the problem which provide the way to assemble a new PC fulfilling their requirements.
This is mainly the idea of my FYP.
